William Hayden of Kalamazoo passed away January 25, 2020 at Borgess Gardens. William was born July 11, 1930 in Evansville, Indiana, the son of Hewitt and Isabel (Reeb) Hayden. William was a Korean War veteran and an avid stamp collector. He was a devoted husband and loving father to his large family. Surviving are his wife Dolores, children Elizabeth (David) Bourg of Alabama, Mary (James) Bennison of Kalamazoo, Susan (John) Newcomb of Illinois, John Foster of Jackson, Julie (Jeff) Durham of Delton, Daniel (Amy) Foster of Parchment, Molly (Candy Anderson) Foster of Kalamazoo, Abner (Martha) Foster of Kalamazoo, twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughters Jeanne O’Mara and Carrie Skelton, son-in-law Thomas Skelton, grandson Max Foster, six brothers and two sisters. Friends will be received 10 to 11 am Thursday, January 30 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am with a luncheon to follow. Military interment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery at 2 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Michigan Great Lakes Chapter.
