Walter Bunce

Walt passed away peacefully at home with his loving family on October 19, 2020. Walt was born in Vestaburg, Michigan on November 22, 1923. He was one of 16 children born to Dayton and Tillie (St. Peter) Bunce. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Rouse, of 36 years of marriage. Walt was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Navy on the USS San Juan. He was a member of the VFW Post 5065 and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #131, serving over 60 years. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Paula in 1945; grandson, Ryland Middaugh in 2006; sons, Michael Rouse in 2016; and Ronald Bunce in 2017; and 13 sisters and brothers. Walt is survived by two children, Denny (Karen) Bunce, Connie Wilson, two step-children, John Rouse and Andrew (Diana) Rouse; daughter-in-law Kathy Bunce; 14 grandchildren, 13 great grand children and several nieces and nephews. A private interment of cremains will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek. Attendance is limited due to Covid-19.
