Thomas V. Stanfield 51 of Vicksburg passed away Wednesday April 13, 2022, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Thomas was born April 24, 1970, in Kalamazoo the son of Thomas and Lucille (Guarisco) Stanfield. He was a 1988 graduate of Gull Lake High School and received his bachelor’s degree from WMU in 1992. Thomas was employed at Denso Mfg. in Battle Creek and was the lead singer for the band Run 4 Cover (7years) and prior as the lead singer for the band In-Custody (8 years). He was the videographer for over 15 years for the K-Wings Hockey team, and he also coached the travel high school hockey team Michigan Kwings for many years. On August 8, 2007, on top of Sterling Mountain in Vermont Thomas was united in marriage to Julie Parker-Stanfield who survives. Tom and Julie were rarely seen separately from each other. They especially enjoyed traveling, concerts, Florida boating and entertaining with friends and family. Tom was well known for his ability of gourmet cooking. He was never afraid to tackle a recipe. During the last 5 years, he was especially known to whip up the most delicious pregame tailgate menus for the Siena Heights University Women’s Lacrosse parents and players. Tom had a vivacious smile, a kind spirit and made new friends easily wherever he went. Also surviving are three children he dearly loved, Kevin Parker of Portage, Lexi Kuhns of Vicksburg, and Sierra Kuhns of Kalamazoo; grandson, Sawyer Stoyanoff; father, Thomas (wife Linda) Stanfield; two sisters, Julie Holden of Memphis, TN, Katie (Jason) Brandel of Kalamazoo; father-in-law; mother-in-law Earl and Karen Parker; two brother-in-law’s, Rick (Dawn) Parker, Michael Parker; several nieces and nephews; and long time bestfriend Tod Davis of Vermont. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Stanfield in 2011 and his brother, Robert Welch in 2019. Friends will be received 1 pm - 2 pm Sunday April 24, 2022 at Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave, Kalamazoo where a memorial service will follow at 2 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Siena Heights University Women’s Lacrosse.
