Thomas Lee Olson

Thomas Lee Olson passed away Sunday October 6, 2019 at Upjohn Nursing Home. Thomas was born June 4, 1951 in Kalamazoo the son of Irving and Elizabeth (Tait) Olson. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Army, member of St. Monica Catholic Church, and was a master gardener, enjoyed writing poetry, storytelling, and an avid fisherman. Surviving are son, Kelly (Dr. Hilary Statton) Olson; step-daughter, Andrea (Jens) Olson-Urbanek; three grandchildren, Ari Stratton-Olson, Cally Olson-Urbanek, Kai Urbanek; siblings, John Olson, Tina (Mike) Olson-Cooper, twin, Barbara Olson, Sandra Olson, Nancy Gordon, Susan (Mike) Kirvan, Edgar Olson, Mark (Shelly) Olson, Matt Olson, Robert Olson, Rebecca Olson, Patricia (Tom) Buckingham; former wife, Shari Olson; several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Charles and Phillip Olson. Friends will be received 1-3 pm Friday October 11, 2019 at Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49008 (269) 343-6156 for a gathering and memorial service.
