Thomas Howard Hubbard

Thomas H. Hubbard, 80, of Portage passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Tom was born December 16, 1939 in Grand Rapids, the son of John and Esther (Tonkin) Hubbard. He was a graduate of Ottawa Hills High School, and one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at the Kingdom Hall in Portage. Tom worked as a franchise manager for Bill Knapp’s Restaurant, and eventually retired in sales. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling to Florida and family gatherings at Bostwick Lake in Rockford. Surviving are Linda (Walters) Hubbard; five children, Joel (Rachel) Hubbard of Battle Creek, Kimber (Jim) Chamness of Portage, Peter (Tonia) Hubbard of Greenville, SC, Jason (Michelle) Hubbard of Detroit, Jenny Kruzman of Kalamazoo; two brothers, Dan (Lois) Hubbard of Grand Rapids, Mark Hubbard of Rockford; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six nieces & nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Hubbard, and a niece. Arrangements by Redmond Funeral Home, Kalamazoo.
