Stella Delach of Kalamazoo passed away Monday March 2, 2020 at Kairos Dwelling at the age of 97. Stella was born June 14, 1922 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Antoni and Mary (Chodoznik) Socha. Stella was employed at Gibson Guitar and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church which her parents helped build and establish over 80 years ago. Stella was married in 1946 to Anthony Delach who passed away on October 4, 2004. She was preceded in death by a brother Ted Socha and two sisters: Nellie Verdon and Victoria Miller. Surviving are sons: James (Carolyn) Delach, Larry (Diane) Delach, Tom (Kris Flaherty) Delach, Alan Delach; brother: Stan (Cathy) Socha; grandchildren: Leslie (Thomas Goodwin) Delach and Lynnae (Ismael) Ortiz; great-grandchildren: Samael and Giovanni; step-grandchildren: Katherine, Memphis, Jadiel, Tim and Denise, and step-great-grandchildren: Michael, Jessica and Amber; and many nieces & nephews. Stella was especially proud of her Polish heritage and Catholic faith, praying the rosary daily. She loved dancing, spending time with family and friends, and was a fabulous cook and gardener. Friends will be received from 5-8 pm on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Parchment Redmond Funeral Home where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 11 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 939 Charlotte St, Kalamazoo. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
