Ruth Quinn

February 25, 1933 — October 13, 2020

Ruth Hill Quinn, 87, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born on February 25, 1933 in Dearborn, Michigan to George Robert (Bob) and Dorothy C. Hill. She grew up in the Augusta and Richland area and graduated from Richland Rural Agricultural School (now Gull Lake High School) in 1951. Later, she was employed at Richland Production Plated Plastics Company and retired after 30 years of service. Ruth was preceded in death by her spouse Sydney Hale with whom she had two sons, and David Quinn who passed away in December, 2019. Survivors include: her two sons Don (Debbie) Hale and Dennis Hale; sister Lee (Bob) Griffin; grandchildren Scott and Matthew Hale, Kelli and Andrea Hale; great-grandchildren Tyler Hale, Jaidyn Driver, and Haylee Goodlow. Also surviving are nieces Jill (Kyle) Meints, Joan Griffin, and nephews Joseph and Jon (Judy) Griffin. Visitation and celebration of Ruth's life with Pastor Jim Dyke will be held on Friday, October 16, at Redmond Funeral Home 4100 S. Westnedge Ave., Kalamazoo from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A light luncheon will follow. In addition, Ruth's family sends their sincere thanks and much appreciation to the nurses and staff at Bronson's ICU unit for their exemplary care, kindness, and thoughtfulness. Masks and social distancing are required.
