Roy Frederick Girard

Passed away Saturday May 19, 2018 at Rose Arbor Hospice. Roy was born July 15, 1924 in Detroit the son of Howard and Rose (Jampsa) Girard. He was a WW II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy and retired as a mechanical engineer for General Motors. Roy was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church and enjoyed golfing, bowling and softball. On May 25, 1949 in Grosse Pointe Roy was united in marriage to the former Jean Yesian who survives. Also surviving are three children, Kristine Jackson of Traverse City, Wayne (Cathryn) Girard of Rochester Hills, Mike (Wendy) Girard of Shamburg, IL; five grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM Thursday May 24, 2018 at St. Monica Catholic Church. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Monica Church or Hospice of S/W. Michigan.
