Rose Marie Greene

Rose Marie, (Rosie), passed away at home on Saturday, April 13, 2019.  She was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on March 6, 1935 to Anthony and Anna (Salamun) Anselmo. Rosie was employed for many years at The Upjohn Company and later in the Proof Department of First of America Bank.  She also had many home-based businesses throughout the years.   She was a life long member of St. Monica Catholic Church where she was involved with the Christian Family Movement, (CFM).  Rosie was also an officer with The Workers of St. Monica and on the finance committee for Msgr. John R. Hackett High School. Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J Greene in 1985 and her son, James P Greene in 2012.  She was also preceded in death by her brother Tony V Anselmo and her sister Lucille Romano.  She is survived by her 4 children, Karyn M Sullivan (Brian) of North Muskegon, MI, Kathryn M Jolly of West Bloomfield, MI, Robert A Greene of Arlington, TX, David M Greene (Susan Hughes) of Ada, MI and Daughter-in-Law, Victoria Greene of Kalamazoo,11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, sister Sharon Dozeman (Harm) of Phoenix, AZ, several nieces and nephews along with many dear friends. Rosie loved Hummingbirds, Lily-of-the-Valley, Blue Hydrangeas and ALL things Pink and Sparkly.  One of Rosie's favorite times was spending vacations at The Dolphin Inn at Ft, Meyers Beach, FL where she developed many long lasting friendships.  She also enjoyed being a judge from the beginning for the annual Labor Day Rib Cook-Offs in North Muskegon. Friends will be received at The Redmond Funeral Home 4100 S. Westnedge Ave., Kalamazoo, MI for visitation on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm with a  rosary being said at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30am, Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at St. Monica Catholic Church, 4408 S, Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI with Fr. Larry Farrell celebrant.   Burial will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Kalamazoo. Memorials may be made in Rose Marie's name to The Area Agency on Aging IIIA or The West Michigan Cancer Center. www.redmondfuneralhomes.net
