Ronald Martin Kloosterman

Ronald Martin Kloosterman, 81, of Kalamazoo passed away Saturday July 6, 2024 at Centrica Care Rose Arbor Place. Ron was born November 20, 1942 in Kalamazoo, the son of Martin and Mary Kloosterman. He was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School and on July 1, 1961 Ron was wed to Sharon Ann (Saranen) Kloosterman. Ron was employed by Gibson Guitar, where he worked for 20 years. He then worked as a master woodworker at numerous companies in Kalamazoo. Ron volunteered for the Kalamazoo Nature Center and was an avid bird watcher. He was a long time member of the Kalamazoo Downstreamers. He enjoyed canoeing, camping and backpacking and gardening especially tending to his dozens of roses. He loved animals and always had cats bossing him around. He loved model railroading and worked on his layout for nearly 50 years. His wife Sharon preceded him in death on August 15, 2011. Surviving are two sons, Craig (Linda) Kloosterman of Aurora, CO, Kevin (Teresa) Kloosterman of Corpus Christi, TX; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Bullock. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Ron's ashes will be spread along side Sharon’s at their favorite wilderness area.
