Roger Earl Thomas

Roger E. Thomas, 86, of Kalamazoo passed away Tuesday February 1, 2022 at Sojourner Place. He was born December 22, 1935 in Kalamazoo, the son of Walter and Philena (Spealman) Thomas. Roger was a Korean War veteran serving in the Air Force. Roger retired as an electrician for James River Corp. and was a member of Kalamazoo Free Methodist Church; he enjoyed fishing, golfing and remodeling his home. Roger was united in marriage to the former Ruth Bohler on December 20, 1958 in Comstock. Ruth preceded him in death on June 21, 2015. Surviving are two children, Gayle Thomas and Eric (Kris) Thomas; two grandchildren, Jackson and Leah Thomas; two sisters, Laurel Ashby, Celia (Bernie) Rorick; brother, Walter (Kathy) Thomas; several nieces & nephews. Graveside services will be held 2:30 pm Saturday April 16, 2022 at East Cooper Cemetery. Military honors by U.S. Air Force and Otsego VFW Post #3030.
