Passed away Saturday March 31, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born May 4, 1929 to the late Hudson Stout and Marjorie Walker in Bloomingdale, MI. Rodney shared 60 blessed years in marriage with his wife Joyce Stout. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and enjoyed life. Up until his retirement Rodney worked for National Water Lift for over 30 years. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling, horse shoes and fishing trips to Canada with his brothers. He enjoyed Polka music and dancing, Rodney stayed loyal to the Detroit Tigers, being a huge fan. If you ever wanted to catch him on a Saturday it had to be before or after “The Lawrence Welk Show”. He is preceded in death by his three brothers Merlin Stout, Arlo Stout and Larry Stout. He leaves to forever cherish his memory, his loving wife Joyce Stout; children Annette (Dan) Campagna of Kalamazoo, MI; Dawn (Dale) VanPatton of Richland, MI; Tim (Patty) Stout of Hopkinsville, KY and Ted Stout of Vicksburg, MI. Sisters Luella Bellon of Lansing, MI; Doreva Christner of Canby, OR Nancy Shaddy of Ozark, MO; Mary Lou (Glen) Boutrager of Portage, MI, five grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Thursday April 5, 2018 from 5-8 at Redmond Funeral Home 4100 S. Westnedge Avenue, services will be held Friday April 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. from Redmond Funeral Home, with interment to follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Although Rodney has departed this life, he will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers please consider Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
