Rita Mae (Caldwell) Miskowski of Kalamazoo passed away Friday November 26, 2021 at home. Rita was born November 11, 1929 in Waukegan, IL the daughter of Raymond and Lucille (Christianson) Caldwell. On May 19, 1951 Rita married the love of her life, Walter (Walt) Joseph Miskowski. They Shared 51 beautiful years together, until his passing in 2002. After raising their children, Rita worked for 18 years in ‘Central Records’ at the Kalamazoo County Sherriff’s Department. Following her retirement, she volunteered at the Comstock Food Pantry for 14 years. Rita had many hobbies, including knitting mittens, slippers, dish clothes, and scrubbies for her family. She was also a great cook, and loved to bake, taking her goodies to neighbors, friends, doctors’ offices, and other community agencies. Rita was also there to lend a hand to anyone in need, whether it family, friend, or neighbor. She enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren, also keeping them on their toes! Even in her 90’s, Rita could run circles around most. Her high – energy and poise were inspiring to all, and her love and kindness will be carried on through generations. Preceding her in death are her parents, two brothers and two sisters. Surviving are three children, Philip (Kim) Miskowski, Kurt (Martha) Miskowski, and Suzanne Grantham; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. Friends will be received 4-6 pm Sunday December 5, 2021 at Redmond Funeral Home, Kalamazoo. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Monday at St. Joseph Catholic. Interment will be in Ft.
