Richard Dale Bush Sr.

Richard D. Bush, Sr. 82 of Portage passed on Tuesday November 22, 2022 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Richard was born April 3, 1940 in Grand Rapids. He retired as a machinist for Durmatalic Corp. and was a member of the Kalamazoo Police Reserves. Richard enjoyed boating, the University of Michigan, riding motorcycles, and he was a very devoted father to his children and especially Rick and loved being a great-grandfather. Richard was united in marriage to the former Elaine Johnson who preceded him in death. Surviving are three children, Richard Bush, Jr, Connie (Timothy) Ferris, Bonnie (Greg) Lortie; five grandchildren, Stephanie (Joe) Neville, Timothy Ferris, Jr., Ryan (Marie Didonna) Ferris, John (Michelle) Lortie, Calvin Lortie; great-grandson, Abel Lortie; four brothers, Michael (Marge) Bush, David (Kathy) Bush, Mark (Brenda) Bush, Clifford (Shana) Bush; three sisters, Marcie (Joe) Post, Anne (Jeff) Ulin, Patricia (Ron) Zomerlei; several nieces & nephews. Friends will be received 10 – 11 am Thursday December 1, 2022 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Portage where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following at 11 am.
