Sharon Lee Ptacek

Sharon Lee Ptacek (née Baird), age 81, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2020 at Bickford Senior Living of Portage. She was born on August 11, 1939 in Ilion, NY and is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, John A. Ptacek. Sharon worked for Town & Country Grocery Store, and then Harding’s Market where she retired after over 30 years of service. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Sharon loved spending time with her family, cooking and baking, gardening her beautiful flower beds, playing cards, and was very talented at crocheting. Sharon was the beloved mother to six children, Randolph (Linda) Ptacek of Portage, Dennis (Corinne) Overmyer of Kalamazoo, Robert (Cathy) Ptacek of Allegan, Dawn (Gregory) Kuethe of Savannah, GA, Jeffrey (Lisa) Overmyer of South Bend, IN, and John M. (Carmen) Ptacek of Hudson, OH. She was the doting grandmother to 16 grandchildren; great grandmother to 5, and aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her brother, Tim (Kris) Zultanski of Granger, IN; three sisters, Barbara Werntz of South Bend, IN, Kathy Laxson of Canby, OR, Mary (Tim) Potter of South Bend, IN. Also preceding her in death are her two brothers, Butch and Mitch Zultanski of South Bend, Indiana. A private service will be held for immediate family members only.
