Norberta "Bert" J. Renauld nee Schmitt

Norberta "Bert" passed away November 13, 2024 at Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo. She was born September 6, 1931 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Martin and Emma (Klein) Schmitt. “Bert” was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and spouses, Francis (Eileen), Gilbert (Gertrude), Stanley (Bethel) and Donald (Margaret), sisters and spouses Mary (Frank Fitzpatrick) and Lucille (James Dillon), daughter Linda Mary Renauld Lutz, a granddaughter Jessica Renauld and daughter-in-law, Dee Wielenga Renauld. Her husband, Bob, whom she married April 15, 1950, survives her, as well as six children, Robert, Jr. (Carol), Ronald, Thomas “Trix”, Marie Terese, Laura (Mitch) Perry, David (Janet), and 19 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bert graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1949. She worked for Ridgeview Nursing Home for 10 years and then in the office for the Sisters of St. Joseph for 13 years prior to her retirement in 1993. She was a founding and active member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Parchment. Bob and Bert enjoyed their many winters in Gulf Shores, AL in their retirement years. We wish to thank Compassus, ComfortKeepers and Kairos Dwelling House for the care they provided our wife and mom during her illness.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 6-8 PM Friday, November 15, 2024 at Adams-Redmond-Parchment Funeral Home, 2300 E. G Ave., Parchment, MI 49004. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Saturday, November 16, 2024 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1628 E. G Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49004, with a luncheon to follow. She will be laid to rest at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Ambrose Parish, the Congregation of St. Joseph or Hackett High School.
