Ruth passed away at home, surrounded by friends and family on September 4, 2017. She was born on August 6, 1938, in College Corner, IN. The daughter of John and Mary (Burke) Wyatt, she grew up in Hamilton, OH. On December 4, 1965, she married Ramon (Ray) Piazza. They moved to Kalamazoo, MI, where they have resided since 1966. She was preceded in death by her son, Lee Piazza, and granddaughter, Abbey Nyberg, siblings Stan Wyatt, Bonnie Wells, Doris Benge, John Wyatt, Jr., and Sophie Dawes. Surviving are her daughers, Stacie (Gerry) Cook and Elena (Bruce) Wood. Beloved grandchildren, Casey (Ben) Crooks, Erica Nyberg, Emily and Sheridan Wood, and Jarrod (Tiffani) Piazza and 8 great-grandchildren. Siblings Sharon (Tom) Scarborough, Avis Wyatt, Winona (Walter) Wegner, Ray (Nina) Wyatt, Terrence Wyatt, and Earl (Vickie) Wyatt. Extended family includes Phil (Kathy Peck) and special friends, Judy Bongers and Linda Millek. Ruth was a terrific cook and accomplished artist. She loved canning the bounty of her gardens, and enjoyed her beautiful flower beds and birds that surrounded her home. Her greatest passion was her family. She was an independent thinker who was a guiding light for many. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at Cooper Twp. Hall on Tuesday, September 19 from 4-7 p.m., remarks at 6 p.m.
