Mildred Pauline Tarkkanen

Mildred P. Tarkkanen of Otsego formerly of Kalamazoo, passed away Thursday February 14, 2019 at home. Mildred was born September 18, 1935 in Greenville, TN the daughter of James and Edna (Friar) Morris. She was a member of United General Baptist Church and she enjoyed spending time with her family, floral arranging, gardening and cooking. On July 31, 1955 in Kalamazoo Mildred was united in marriage to Robert Tarkkanen who preceded her in death on March 31, 2007. Also preceding her were three children, James Tarkkanen, Linda Corad, Debra Tarkkanen. Surviving are two children, Paul Tarkkanen of Parchment, Patricia (Jeff) Curry of Otsego; aunt, Lillian Brennan of Kalamazoo; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren. Friends will be received 12-1 pm Thursday February 21, 2019 at Parchment Redmond Funeral Home, 2300 East "G" Ave. Parchment, MI 49004 (269) 349-7735 where services will follow at 1pm.
