Mary Schirripa, 93, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2022 in Coral Gables, FL. Mary was born in Grant Town, West Virginia to Dominick and Frances (Donato) Ammendolia on November 28, 1928. On June 26, 1949 in Grant Town, West Virginia she was united in marriage to Joseph C. Schirripa. She and Joe lived in Fairmont, West Virginia; Kalamazoo, Michigan; Richland, Michigan; Naples, Florida; and South Haven, Michigan. Mary was trained as a telephone operator and served as the operator/receptionist at First Federal Savings and Loan in downtown Kalamazoo from 1973 until 1982. She left the bank to operate Bluewater Beach Cottages in South Haven with Joe until the cottages were replace by their development of Windsurfer Condominiums in 1991 Throughout her life, Mary enjoyed many wonderful years in Michigan and Florida. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed gardening, shopping, cooking, oil painting, real estate, her beach in South Haven, and especially spending time with her family. She was predeceased by Joe on July 3, 2011. Also predeceasing her were parents; two sisters, Theresa (Tony) Riggi and Elizabeth (Robert) Piscitelli; and one brother Joseph (Alvida) Ammendolia. Mary is survived by her two sons: Mark (Lora Spaulding) Schirripa, Niles, Michigan and Michael (Susan Coccetti) Schirripa, Coral Gables, Florida, and by her only grandchild; Gabriella Schirripa, Granger, Indiana. Upon her wishes, there is no visitation. A Roman Catholic funeral service took place at Parchment Redmond Funeral Home. Private family services took place in Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Parks, Kalamazoo, Michigan. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
