Marlene Tuckey Mutz (Stermer) succumbed to respiratory issues at her home in Portage on Monday afternoon, February 26, 2018. A lifelong local resident, she was born in Vicksburg in 1936, attended Vicksburg schools, married Albert Jay Tuckey in 1954, moving to Portage. Marlene worked in the offices of Burroughs and Mastercraft as a secretary, leaving to start two Kawasaki dealerships with her husband until the mid 80s. Marlene and Al worked for Mount Everest until his death in 1997 at the age of 60. Marlene met spouse Walter Mutz while at Mount Everest, marrying in 2002, planning to travel, fish and make a home together. Surviving family members are spouse Walter, her children Deborah Grier Colon (Jesse), Charles Albert Tuckey and Chris Alan Tuckey, grandsons Troy Tuckey (Christy) and A.J. Tuckey, stepson Ken Mutz, sisters Barbara Reisterer and Donna Holtz, much family and close friends. Marlene is described by these friends as a devoted and generous mother, avid fisherman, impressive bowler, canny Euchre player, pet lover, frequent gardener, excellent cook/homemaker and loving partner. Her greatest joy in life was caring for and about her family. Visitors are invited to gather on Sunday, March 4 from 4 to 8 PM at Redmond Funeral Home, and/or to her Funeral on Monday, March 5 at 11:00 AM at Redmond Funeral Home.
