Marcella E. Pyle passed away peacefully on April 30, 2022 at Amber Way of Heritage Community in Kalamazoo. Marcella was born May 25, 1932 in Kalamazoo to Ralph and Mabel (Gillette) Moore. She graduated from St. Augustine High School and returned to school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse after starting her family. She worked for 30 years in various physician offices. She was an accomplished seamstress sewing clothes for her children and creating decorations for church bazaars and galas. She was handy with a drill and wrench when tackling home repairs. Marcella was a competitive (she hated to lose) bowler and bridge player. While raising her family, she was a member of St. Augustine church and active with the Workers of Mary. After retirement, she became a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church where she ushered and worked on funeral luncheons. During the last five years she especially enjoyed making her Amber Way caregivers laugh at her mischievous remarks. The family wishes to thank them for their gentle care. She was preceded in death by her sisters Virginia Kosacek and Shirley Wilson, her former husband James L. Holton and husband Robert M. Pyle. Surviving are her children Patricia Holton (Jim McKinney), Paula Holton (Gilbert Cote), James F. Holton (Kim Saidla), and Theresa Holton; stepdaughters Cynthia (Jeffrey) Haverly, and Linda Easton; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sorely missed. Services have been rescheduled for a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made to Amber Way at Heritage Community of Kalamazoo.
