Linda Lou Bogard

Linda Lou Bogard, 88 of Kalamazoo, passed away on September 15 2020 at Butterfly Oasis. Linda was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Ernest and Beatrice (Wilcox) Gorham on May 12, 1932. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Kalamazoo 4-H where she taught cooking and sewing, and the Parchment United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and taking care of her grandchildren. Linda was united in marriage to John Bogard Jr. on January 24 1953 in Kalamazoo who preceded her in death on March 28, 2016. Also preceding her in death are her parents; son Bruce Bogard; brother Richard Gorham; sisters Kay Pryor and Loretta Gorham. Surviving are two daughters, Janice (John) Smiertka of Kalamazoo and Patricia (Douglas) Brooks of South Bend IN; three grandchildren, James Smiertka, Julia Smiertka, and Melissa Brooks; brother-in-law Donald Pryor; and several nieces & nephews. Private family services will be held at East Cooper Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Great Lakes Hospice.
