Leighton Roy Sage

July 4, 1926 — February 7, 2020

Leighton Roy Sage of Kalamazoo passed away Friday February 7, 2020 at home in Portage. Mr. Sage was born July 4, 1926 in Kalamazoo the son of Roy H. and Natalie U. (Leighton) Sage. Leighton enjoyed fishing, metal detecting and traveling with his wife and kids. He managed to visit all 50 states. He worked at Woolf Excavating for over 50 years. Leighton was preceded in death by wife of 63 years, Maxine B. (Gile) Sage, his parents, two sons, James Reed and Kenneth Reed, a daughter-in-law, Dorie Reed and his sister. He is survived by seven children; Skip (Pat) Reed, Sandy (Lisa Wilderson) Giriffin, Ron (Sue) Sage, Bruce (Sheryle) Sage, Wayne (Marcia) Sage, Terry (Laurie Haner) Sage, Kevin (Myong) Sage; 26 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-greatgrandchildren; three daughters-in-law; Cathy Reed, Barb (Jerry) Elkins and Julia Sage; numerous nieces & nephews. Friends will be received 12pm to 1pm Thursday February 13, 2020 at Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49008 (269) 343-6156 where services will follow at 1pm. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org   www.redmondfuneralhomes.net
