Laura M. Meier, 70, of Kalamazoo, MI, passed away on June 1, 2020 at Bronson Methodist Hospital with her daughter Kelly and grandson Trae by her side. Laura was born in Kalamazoo to Teddy and Mildred (Schuyler) Nohava on December 24, 1949. She worked as a Billing Specialist at West Michigan Cancer Center and enjoyed going to the Casino, watching the Detroit Tigers play-when the game was on everyone knew not to interrupt, going to Lake Michigan, Turkeyville, and Shipshewana to go shopping with friends, and spending time with family. Laura was a joy to be around with a vibrant personality that made it impossible to not feel instantly welcomed. She was especially dedicated to her grandchildren: she took them on many trips, enjoyed taking them shopping and the beach, and she never missed any of their many, many sporting events. Laura is survived by her daughter, Kelly Meier of Kalamazoo; her brother Ted Nohava; Her three sisters: Jill Reinbold, Clarice Emmons, and Dora Kuis (Mel); Her five grandchildren: Paul Williams Jr. (Carly), Trae Williams (Amber), Amarra Smith, Aliva Smith, and Anthony Duncan; Her great-granchild Trae Williams Jr., with another great-grandson on the way.
