Laura (Laurie) Jean Foti was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on May 26, 2023 at age 54 at her home. Laura was born on March 19, 1969 the daughter of Clayton and Charlene (Hanson) Craddock in Chicago,IL where she lived her young life with her two sisters, surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The family moved to Wisconsin to experience country living before moving to Michigan where she graduated from Ottawa Hills High School. Family vacations were spent up north in Minnesota which led to a love of fishing and camping.
Laura joined the Air National Guard Reserves following high school and also completed her nursing degree at Grand Rapids Community College. She worked at Domino’s Pizza where she met her husband Rob. After graduating with her nursing degree she worked as a nurse in the dialysis unit at St. Mary’s Hospital, and the Wege Center both in Grand Rapids then at Bronson Rambling Road Pediatrics in Kalamazoo.
Laura enjoyed many trips to Petoskey, MI for camping, Delavan, WI for annual pig roasts, Minnesota for fishing, Spring break trips with family and friends, and Panama. She loved vacations, scrapbooking, reading, attending church at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, and spending time with her loving family.
Laura was preceded in death by her mother Charlene Ann Craddock in 2005 and her father Clayton Clifford Craddock, Jr in 2008.
Laura was united in marriage on June 2, 1990 in Grand Rapids to Robert Foti who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Alex (Maria Lorena) Foti and Anthony Foti; grandson, Luca Foti. Laura is the middle child and leaves two sisters and their spouses behind; Christine (Tim) Seaver and Jennie (Paul) Carlson; nephew Isaac; niece Emma; brother, Jey (Maribel) DeLeon from Panama and inlaws Joseph (Griselle) Foti, nieces Gabrielle and Isabelle and, Drew Foti, and many caring friends.
She will be missed by family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors. Family and friends will be received 6-8 pm Friday June 2, 2023 at Redmond Funeral Home, Kalamazoo where services will be held at noon on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
