Kathy J. Hageman, 75, of Parchment, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at her home. She was born September 24, 1949 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Joseph and G. Arlene (Ludwig) Hageman. Kathy was a 1967 graduate of O’Brien High School, attended Nazareth College, and obtained her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Aquinas College. She retired from Eaton Corporation in 2009 after many years of service. In her retirement, she was employed by Borgess Hospital on the switchboard and by St. Ambrose Parish in Parchment where she assisted in the office. She volunteered her time to the church as a Eucharistic Minister and as coordinator for the Parish food bank and also served the community of Parchment as a volunteer for The Friends of the Parchment Community Library. Kathy was a supporter of the Barn Theatre in Augusta as a season ticket holder, was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan, and enjoyed traveling either for work or in her free time, particularly enjoying her trips to Mackinac Island. Kathy loved her family and was a devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She collected Hallmark Christmas ornaments and each of the kids received one every Christmas.
Kathy is survived by four siblings, Tom Hageman, Tim (Terry) Hageman, Dan Hageman and Jolene Danoski; seven nieces and nephews, Levi Danoski, Kyle (Taylor) Hageman, Timothy (Bekah) Hageman, Georganne (Ryan) McHugh, MaryJo (Mike) Havenaar, Annie Bruce and A.J. Newnum; 11 great-nieces and great-nephews; and numerous extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
