Kathleen Marie Simpson

Kathleen Marie Simpson of Kalamazoo, 67, passed away at home surrounded by her
family on November 5, 2023. Kathleen’s funeral service will be held on Saturday,
November 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ambrose Church, 1628 E. G Ave, Parchment,
MI 49004.
Kathleen was born on January 11, 1956, in Kalamazoo, MI to Walter and Rosalind
(Spalding) Oryczcak. She was a 1974 graduate of Parchment High School and
Davenport University in 1999 receiving an associate degree. Kathleen began a career
at Pfizer in 1990 and continued there until she retired in 2018. She greatly
appreciated the opportunities for international travel her career provided. She loved
her time spent with family including her beloved Yorkshire Terrier “Bentley”. She
also enjoyed reading and playing Blackjack at casinos. Kathleen was also a member at
St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Parchment, MI.
Kathleen will be greatly missed by her; her children, Laura (Gene) Ritchie and Ryan
Simpson; siblings, Connie Swenson, Thomas Oryczcak, Richard Oryczcak;
grandchildren, Alyssa Cisneros, Joshua Caswell, Brianna Simpson, Jordan Simpson,
Lydia Looper; great grandchildren, Liam Caswell and Thea Caswell. She is preceded in death by her son,
Kyle Simpson and brother, John Oryczcak.
