Joseph Sang Kim Huynh passed away on Monday, December 23, 2019 at home in Portage, MI. Joseph Sang Kim Huynh was born on February 12, 1937 in My Tho, Vietnam the son of Khiet Kim Huynh and Thom Son Tran. Sang graduated summa cum laude from Su Pham University’s School of Education in Vietnam and became a French teacher. Sang and his family immigrated to the U.S. in 1975. He was a social worker with Bethany Christian Services, where he served the immigrant and refugee community. He was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church. On October 7, 1967 in Saigon Sang was united in marriage to the former Dorothy Duyen Nguyen, who survives, also surviving are daughter, Ann (Ross) Huynh-Wimer; son-in-law, Ross Wimer of Playa Vista, CA; brothers, Jacques Cuong Huynh of Marseille, France, Benoit Quang Huynh of Houston, TX, Daniel Chung Huynh of Sacramento, CA, Phero Tuyen Huynh, Dominique Thanh Huynh of Saigon, Vietnam, sister Elizabeth Loan Huynh of Portage, MI, and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 4-8 pm Friday December 27, 2019 at Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49008 (269) 343-6156 where a Rosary will be recited at 7pm.
