Joe passed away on July 20, 2017 at Rose Arbor Hospice. He was born in Richland Junction, MI on July 19, 1920, the son of Ray and Bernice (Dhaenens) Chadderdon. He was Technical Director of Kalamazoo Vegetable Parchment Company where he researched, developed and implemented innovative processes for manufacturing Parchment Paper. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Normandy invasion of WWII. He was a founding member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Michigan LST Assoc., Past President and longtime member of the Technical Association of Pulp and Paper Industry. He was preceded in death by his brother Jim Chadderdon and great-granddaughter Ava Arlee Chadderdon. Joe is survived by his wife of 72 years, Elizabeth Marie, his children David (Christine) Chadderdon of Portage, Elizabeth (Phil) Schmitt of Kalamazoo, Patrick (Marilyn) Chadderdon of Kalamazoo, Jean (Patrice) LeJoncour of Noyon, France, Peter Chadderdon of Parchment and Phillip (Diane) Chadderdon of Danville, VT, 17 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Surviving siblings include Harold (Mary) Chadderdon of Omaha, NB, Vera Russell of Kalamazoo, Margaret Ecker of Parchment, Lucille (Gene) Burgwald of Kalamazoo, Grace Bonhomme of Portage and Janet Chadderdon C.S.J. of Nazareth, MI. Friends will be received Sunday July 23, 2017, at the Parchment Redmond Funeral Home from 4- 8pm, living rosary taking place at 6:30pm. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday July 24, 2017 at 10:30am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Father James O’Leary, celebrant. Inurnment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Congregation of St. Joseph or Rose Arbor Hospice.
