John L. Robertson Jr.

Passed away Wednesday October 31, 2018 at Medilodge of Portage.  John was born April 30, 1935 in Highland Park the son of John and Florence (Self) Robertson. He loved to joke around and enjoyed going to his grandma and grandpa Self’s farm in Ohio and his Uncle Grandville’s cottage on Lake St. Clair, Aunt Bonnie’s house for picnics, pontoon rides, and family reunions. He loved Detroit Tiger Baseball and most always wore his Tiger baseball cap. The family wishes to thank the staff at Medilodge especially Nurse, Tina who he affectionately called “The Warden”, Mona and CENAs; Frederica, Calvin, Tim, Teasha, Alyssa, and Leakisha. And to Aunt Bonnie who visited him tirelessly and unselfishly several times a week to make sure his needs were met and was receiving great care. Surviving are his Brother; James (Virginia) Robertson of Palm Springs, CA, Aunt; Bonnie Elkins of Vicksburg, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 1 pm Monday November 5, 2018 at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, MI. Arrangements made by Parchment Redmond Funeral Home 2300 East G.
