John W. Ingram, age 72, of Kalamazoo, MI, went to be with the Lord on May 9, 2020 at Ascension Borgess Hospital. Born in Kalamazoo on June 16, 1947, he was the son of the late William and Josephine (Scheiern) Ingram. John graduated from Loy Norrix High School in 1965. He went on to earn a license as Journeyman Inside Wireman from the I.B.E.W. Local 131, where he was a fifty-year member. He also worked and retired after 20 years from General Motors as a Master Electrician, also a life member of the Veterans of foreign Wars, and member of the American Legion. John enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and canoeing, as well as woodworking and doing home projects. He was a Vietnam War Veteran serving in the U.S. Army where he received the National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal. John was predeceased by his adored beloved daughter, Cindy Ingram Bartholomew. John is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine Barr of Kalamazoo; his beloved son, Scott Ingram and wife Jill of Easton, CT; his cherished grandsons, Jack Bartholomew and Tyler Ingram; his devoted sister Dixie (Ingram) Quarry and many loving nieces and nephews. Due to the novel-coronavirus COVID-19, John's graveside service will be a family-only event held at Fort Custer National Cemetery on August 5th. Later on in the day, there will be a Celebration of Life for John and his daughter Cindy Bartholomew from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m at VFW Red Arrow Post-1920 E.
