BRESNAHAN, John P. Sr. Portage Passed away Friday December 28, 2018 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. John was born December 8, 1924 in Chicago, IL, the son of Thomas and Margaret (Manning) Bresnahan. He was a WW II veteran serving in the Army Air Corps. John Graduated from St. Rita Cascia High School in Chicago then from Loyola University in 1950 where he was a member of the Half Century Club and Loyola Legacy. He retired from Clark Equipment Co. and was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church. Long time Notre Dame and Chicago White Sox fan and member of the Western Michigan University Gary Fund and season ticket holder for football and basketball. On July 26, 1952 John was united in marriage to the former Claire Rutz in Chicago, who preceded him in death on October 13, 2010. Also preceding him in death are a son; Paul Bresnahan in 2017, and sister; Helen (Jack) Heebner. Surviving are five children; Margaret “Peggy” Bresnahan, Lawrence (Nachi) Bresnahan, Mary (R. Scott) McBurney, John (Carla) Bresnahan Jr., Thomas (Deborah) Bresnahan, brother; Thomas (Rheta) Bresnahan, nine grandchildren; Brendan Bresnahan, Jennifer (Jason) Larsen, Ryan (Cari) McBurney, Sean (Kayla) McBurney, Connor Bresnahan, Giuliana Bresnahan, Gabriel Bresnahan, Austin Bresnahan, Megan Bresnahan, two great-grandsons; Aidan and Preston McBurney, and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received 5-8 pm Sunday December 30, 2018 at Redmond Funeral Home, Kalamazoo. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Monday at St. Monica Catholic Church.
