Jeffrey Alan Hagerty

Jeffrey A. Hagerty 43 of Kalamazoo passed away Friday February 24, 2023 at home. Jeff was born October  15, 1979 in Three Rivers to Richard and Sue (Burch) Hagerty. He enjoyed shopping at the mall, going on outings, bowling, walks, gospel music and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Surviving are his parents, Richard Hagerty of Ft Meyers Florida and Sue Hagerty of Kalamazoo Michigan; sister, Sonya Hagerty, brother; Paul Hagerty; four nephews; many aunts, uncles and cousins.  Jeff is preceded in death by Grandparents Richard and Pearl Hagerty, Clarence and Mary Burch and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jeff graduated from Croyden School for the Developmentally Disabled , Kalamazoo in 2006.  He attended Western University’s day program until 2021, where he enjoyed volunteering to take bread to the food bank and visiting the elderly.

Jeff was always in a good mood and was very gifted with making those around him happy and smile.  With those smiles and his humor, he could make a bad day disappear.  He loved flirting with the workers at ROI (Residential Opportunities Incorporated) where he lived.  He was always trying to prank anyone who fell for any of them.  When you would visit him, he would tell you, you can “Come knock on my door and don’t forget the Reese’s”.

The family would like to thank the ROI staff and management for all their love and attention given to Jeff.  Their treatment of Jeff makes them feel like part of the family.

 A memorial service will be held at Redmond Funeral Home, Kalamazoo on March 3, 2023 at 3:00pm.
