Janice (Buxton) Davidson – Known as Jan
April 4, 1933 – June 29, 2023
With 90 years of living Jan’s body got tired and she laid it down to rest on June 29, 2023. She went to her heavenly home.
Jan was born April 4, 1933 in Plainwell Michigan to Charles and Thelma (Jackson) Buxton. She loved and lived generously until her final days. Faith and family were the focus of her life. She loved nature and was an avid gardener. Hiking, golfing, reading and travel also brought her joy. She and her husband Hugh (1930-2013) built a lake cabin in the woods in Michigan’s UP. In their retirement they loved summers at the cabin.
She was an active volunteer contributing to many organizations through out her life. As a member of Zion Lutheran Church there were many ministries in which she participated that were dear to her heart. She has been a faithful member of Zion since 1957.
Jan loved life. She made her decisions to the end, leaving this life with grace and dignity. She will be forever in the hearts and lives of those she leaves behind.
Survived by her three children, Dennis (Carol) Davidson; their children, Matthew (Romelle) Davidson, their children Marzi and Ellis; Lezley Davidson (Nico Lingg); Luanne (Melvin) Valkner; their children Joel (Erin) Valkner, their son Wyatt; Keren Valkner; Rebecca (Dick) Pasman: their children Emily (Jason) Groth, their children, Gideon, Esther, Martha and Joanna; Eric Pasman (Piper Sandal), their children, Willa, Maren, Brennan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins in the Harrington, Brooks, Powell, Buxton and Jackson families.
A special thanks and acknowledgement to the Vineyards Assisted Living in Texas Corners who so beautifully cared for Jan in the last few years of life and to Centrica Palliative Care. Their love, devotion and kindness to her will stay with us the rest of our days. From the bottom of ours hearts thank you!
According to her wishes, Jan was cremated. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023 @ 1pm followed by an ice cream social, desserts and family visitation from 2pm to 4pm at Zion Lutheran Church, 2122 Bronson Blvd, Kalamazoo.
