Helen Jane VanStreain

Helen VanStreain of Kalamazoo passed away Monday April 13, 2020 at Ascension Borgess Hospital. Helen was born February 14, 1931 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Paul and Sarah (Mason) Kean. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren. On October 5, 1949 in Kalamazoo Helen was united in marriage to Robert G. VanStreain who preceded her in death on April 26, 1996. Also preceding her in death was a son, Terry VanStreain; daughter, Sarah Rantz; granddaughter, Shannon Jameson; four brothers, William, Jack, Otto, Paul Kean; sister, Pauline Gould. Surviving are three children, Robert VanStreain, Jr., Kenneth VanStreain, Gary (Mary) VanStreain all of Kalamazoo; daughter-in-law, Carol VanStreain; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews; and special friend Clyde Phillips. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
