Heather Nicole Ponds

Heather Nicole Ponds 39 of Kalamazoo passed away Monday November 14, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital in Battle Creek. She was born June 1, 1983 in Kalamazoo to Ernest and Christine Wheeler and was adopted by her foster parents Joe and Toby (Robbins) Spinner in January 1996. On August 27, 2021 in Sturgis, MI Heather was united in marriage to the love of her life, Eugene Ponds, IV who survives. Also surviving are her parents; daughter, Autumn Spinner (18); daughter and two sons that were adopted by a very loving family; sister, Ashley Spinner (32); nephew, William Oisten (11); her first granddaughter Nevaeh who will be born in February 2023; birth family members, aunts, uncles, cousins and so many friends she considered family. Heather enjoyed crafts especially diamond dots. She was funny, loving, stubborn as hell and a fighter. She made her way in this world and overcame so many obstacles. We are proud of the person she became. We will miss her so very much, especially hearing her say “Love you later” because to her, goodbye was too final.
