Grant W. Macdonald of Kalamazoo passed away Sunday March 15, 2020 at home. Grant was born July 2, 1928 in Chicago, IL the son of John and Jane (Porter) Macdonald. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Grant retired as the industrial arts teacher from Parchment Schools after 30 years. He was a member of the Christian Science Church, member of Fidelity Masonic Lodge #513 F& AM where he served as past master three times. Grant was active in Boy Scouts for over 50 years and became an Eagle Scout in 1942 and he was still an active volunteer at Camp Rota Kawan. On July 31, 1954 in Kalamazoo Grant was united in marriage to the former Marilyn Darrow who preceded him in death on October 21, 2009. Also preceding in death are two sisters, Grace Mashaw and Alma Mabile; brother, John Macdonald. Surviving are six children, Lyle (Elizabeth) Macdonald, Kevin (Jan) Macdonald, Grant Marshall (Joanie) Macdonald, Leigh Ann Rauen, Paul (Shelly) Macdonald, Peter Macdonald; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.
