Emma Lois Swadling

Emma L. Swadling of Kalamazoo passed away Tuesday July 18, 2017 at Butterfly Oasis Assisted Living. Emma was born September 17, 1925 in Springfield, IL the daughter of Nils and Coralee  (Landin) Reistad. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, and was formerly employed by united Nursing Services, was a foster grandparent for Croydon School, and a 4-H Leader. On June 12, 1953 Emma was united in marriage to Floyd Swadling who preceded her in death on March 1, 2006. Surviving are two sons, James (Sharon) Swadling of Flat Rock, Charles (Lori) Swadling of Holland; daughter, Sandra (Marvin) Jaco of Kalamazoo; foster daughter, Christine (Jay) Ray of Battle Creek; sister, Nilslee Kreppert of Aurora, IL; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three nephews. Friends will be received 9 – 11am Friday July 21, 2017 at Family of God Worship Center, 5841 East “H” Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49048 where services will follow at 11 am. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Butterfly Oasis Assisted Living or directed to the family.
