Elsie S. Baur, age 96, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018, at Hospice of Cincinnati. She was born on April 23, 1922, in Unionville, Michigan, to John and Marie Kruse. She was affectionately called Honey by her six older sisters and one older brother. On October 12, 1944, she married Ed Baur, who was inducted into the Army within days of the wedding. Together they lived in Arkansas, California, Oregon, and Washington during Ed’s years of active duty. They returned to Michigan and settled in Kalamazoo where they had two daughters, Diane and Jan. In 2001, they moved to Milford, Ohio, where Elsie resided for seventeen years. Elsie was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Kalamazoo and St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Milford. She was a loving mother and a doting grandma and great grandma. She was predeceased by Ed Baur in 2001, her parents, and her siblings. Survivors include daughters: Diane (Dan) Kurtz and Jan Pavlack; Grandchildren: Sarah (Nick) Hill,Rob (Alyssa) Kurtz, Jon (Joyce) Pavlack, Todd ( Sarah) Pavlack, and Marc Pavlack;Great Grandchildren: Hunter and Aspen Hill, Lennox Kurtz, Olivia, Christopher, and Amelia Pavlack. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. A private graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 9, at Mt.Ever Rest Memorial Park South.
