Elmo K. Wallace of Kalamazoo passed away Saturday April 6, 2019 at home. Elmo was born March 17, 1928 in Oil City, LA the son of Oliver and Sarah Belle (Cox) Wallace. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School and was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War. Elmo retired from Checker Motors after 43 years of service and enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. On July 11, 1953 in Parchment Elmo was united in marriage to the former Arline Stoneburner who survives. Also surviving are four children, Nancy (Randy Kay) Wallace of Comstock, Patricia Amsterburg of Oshtemo, Marilyn Wassell of Coloma, Robert Wallace of Kalamazoo; sister, Frieda Wallace of Kalamazoo; seven grandchildren; Rob (Rachael) Amsterburg, Phil (Kim) Amsterburg , Christopher Kay , R.J (Teaha) Kay, Sarah Kay, Cambria Wassell and Caleb Wassell nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Chester Wallace; two sisters, Dorothy DeHaan, Carol Peck. Friends will be received 5pm-8pm Wednesday March 10th at Parchment Redmond Funeral Home, 2300 East "G" Ave. Parchment, MI 49004 (269) 349-7735, where services will be held Thursday April 11th at 11am. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. in leui of flowers the family would encourge loved ones to spend time with their own familes or perhaps a memorial contribution to the Hospice of South West Michigan.
