Edward Frederick Bourgeois

Edward died peacefully on July 16, 2021 at his home surrounded by the love of his family. Ed was born in Kalamazoo on Oct. 30, 1932, the son of Edward F. and Margaret (Fitzpatrick) Bourgeois Sr. Ed had been employed by Saniwax Paper Company, Acme Printing Ink Company, Brown Company and James River as a supervisor. He was a charter member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. First and foremost a family man, he was an exceptional storyteller and a man of many talents. Ed is survived by his wife Mary, children: Stephanie & Charlie Tackett of Kalamazoo, Peter and Chris Bourgeois of Kalamazoo, Sherry & Derrick Stevens of Denver, CO, Tim & Peggy Bourgeois of Parchment and Ann & Michael Sanders of Lansing, 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, sister, Barbara & Richard Huis of Paw Paw, many nieces & nephews. Friends will be received July 25, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 6 until 8pm at Parchment Redmond Funeral Home, 2300 East G Ave. and July 26, 2021 from 9 to 10am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10am Fr. Albert Kemboi, Celebrant. Internment of cremains will be in Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or the Michigan Great Lakes Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
