Dolores M. Hayden 89 of Kalamazoo, passed away Monday April 25, 2022 at Park Place Assisted Living. Dolores was born September 15, 1932 in Detroit the daughter of Abner and Mildred (Rogers) McGuire. She received her bachelor’s degree from WMU in 1970 and was a home economist for Michigan State University. Dolores was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, where she was active in the Church Women United, she was a member of the League of Women’s Voters, University of Women and very active in what she believed in such as women’s rights. On August 14, 1981 in Kalamazoo Dolores was united in marriage to William Hayden who preceded her in death on January 25, 2020. Also preceding her in death were daughter, Carrie Skelton; three sisters, Joyce, Margarete, Patricia, brother, Donald McGuire; sister-in-law, Paricia McGuire; step-daughter, Jeanne Hayen; two great-grandchildren, Christopher Bommer, Max Foster. Surviving are six children, Mary (Jim) Bennison, John (Annie) Foster, Daniel (Amy) Foster, Abner (Martha) Foster, Molly Foster, Candy Anderson; three step-daughters, Elizabeth (David) Boug, Susan (John) Newcomb, Julie (Jeff) Durham; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson, Paulie; several nieces & nephews. Friends will be received 10 – 11 am Saturday April 30, 2022 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following at 11 am. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
