Diane Downing

Diane Downing 77 of Kalamazoo passed away Sunday June 19, 2022 at Rose Arbor Hospice. She was born January 23, 1945 in Ann Arbor the daughter of Wendell and Margaret (Quermbach) Downing. Diane grew up on a farm in Monroe County, MI and graduated from Milan High School in 1963 and Eastern Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 1968 after which she taught at Wyandotte School and then Fort Myers, FL. Diane loved quilting, horses, watching Jeopardy, music, arts and crafts. She was united in marriage to David Collins who preceded her in death on October 7, 2011. Also preceding her in death were three siblings, Harry Downing, Susan McCleary, Charles Downing. She is survived by three siblings, Jeanne Downing, David (Marchell) Downing, Marc (Cynthia) Downing; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held at West Oshtemo Cemetery.
