Dean F. Clark 86 of Kalamazoo, passed away Friday, October 30, 2020 at home surrounded by family. Dean was born September 22, 1934 in Hillsdale County the son of M. Franklin and E. Marian (Armstrong) Clark and was united in marriage to the former Verda Hinkle on September 16, 1956, who survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Camila (Robert) Stewart; grandchildren Katherine (Drake) Siwicki, Emily Stewart, and Bobby Stewart; great-grandchild Marshall Dean Siwicki; brothers, David (Jean) Clark and Larry (Barbara) Clark; many nieces & nephews. Dean realized a life of service to others at a young age with his participation in 4-H and as a church youth leader. After graduating from Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, FL, Dean worked for both KVP and Merchants Publishing Co. in Kalamazoo. He was a member of Parchment United Methodist Church where he served on the Missions Committee for many years, The Methodist Men’s Club and many various church committees. As a watercolor artist, Dean was active in SPAD (Society of Professional Artists & Designers) and his artwork was shown at many area shows. He received several awards for his work including The Ward H. and Cora E. Nay Director's Fund Purchase Award at the KIA Area Show in 2012, and the People’s Choice Award at the Three Rivers Area Show in 1995. During his retirement, he encouraged others, teaching art classes through the church. Dean exhibited his love for nature through his artwork, photography and gardening throughout his lifetime and leaves behind volumes of pictures and art for family and friends to enjoy. Friends will be received at 10:00 am Wednesday November 4, 2020 at Parchment United Methodist Church where services will follow at 11:00 am. Internment will be in Allen Cemetery, Allen, MI.
