David James Young

David J. Young 46 of Kalamazoo passed away Friday November 4, 2022 at home. David was born November 6, 1975 in Kalamazoo the son of Norton James and Gayle (Cooley) Young. He graduated from Parchment High School and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. David was employed by Roto-Rooter then for Dan Wood Plumbing and attended Temple Baptist Church. He enjoyed body building at Strength Beyond, target practicing and hunting. Surviving are three children, Erik (Rebecca) Sullivan, David Young, Abigayle Young; mother, Gayle Young; two grandchildren, Ava Sullivan, Levi Sullivan; three sisters, Linda (Angelo) DePersis, Jill (Trevor) Paul, Charlotte Tinkey; fiancee, Jennifer Montague; and best friend, Deric Sliger. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Young in 2013. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Temple Baptist Church with a luncheon to follow.
