Charles Douglas “Chuck” Kendall Passed away peacefully at his home in Schoolcraft, Michigan on June 15, 2019 at the age of 90. Charles is predeceased by Carol Dawn Kendall, his wife of 65 years, and by his sisters, Lois Horning and Helen Whitcomb. Charles is lovingly remembered by his dear companion Joyce Erwin, and by his children Laurie (John) Brown, Karla (Greg) Goodman, Reed (Marcia) Kendall, Charles M Kendall, Anne (Bob) Geist, Kelly Hulander and Angela (Mike) Repins . He is mourned by his grandchildren Tom (Linnae) Kendall, Anthony (Sherry) Kendall, Erin (Brandon) O’Brien Jenison, Cara (Travis) Kendall, Lacey (Andrew) Mills, Anne (Jake) Kendall, Kate (Matt) Oliver, Charlie Goodman , Caroline Geist, Anne Brown , Christina Brown, Reed H Kendall, Peter Kendall , Sam Kendall, Stephanie Hulander, and Kendall Repins. Charles also leaves Thirteen beloved Great – grandchildren and eleven Nieces and Nephews. Born in Dayton Ohio in 1928, Charles graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1946 and attended Kalamazoo College. He and his brother - in-Law, Grant Whitcomb, opened Whitcomb and Kendall Marathon in 1954, Charles later become Sole Proprietor of Kendall Auto Service, from which he retired in 1994. For many years, Charles was an active member of the Vicksburg Rotary Club, he was a Two- time recipient of their of their Paul Harris Fellow Award – He helped to establish the Strive Mentorship program at Vicksburg High School. Charles was an engaged and valued member of his church and local communities and the beloved patriarch of his extensive family. Friends wil be received Thursday June 20th 2019 10Am -12Pm at Portage United Church of Christ 2731 W Milham Ave, Portage Michigan 49024 where a memorial Service will follow at Noon with a luncheon to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vicksburg Rotary Strive Program.
