Carl Jacob Sikkenga

Carl Jacob Sikkenga (74) of Kalamazoo, MI passed away at Rose Arbor (Centricare) on July 12, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Jeanette (Daniel), children Wendy (Julie) of Mattawan, Mark (Patti) of Galesburg and Scott of Kalamazoo, brother Raymond, formerly of Battle Creek, seven grandchildren and five great grandsons along with numerous nieces and nephews. Carl is preceded in death by their daughter, Tammie Schlotterback (Tim), parents, Henry and Helen Sikkenga and his sister, Janice Tripp. Carl served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Kalamazoo Public Schools as a bus driver. He spent 62 years going to WMU football games from ushering to being an avid fan. He also was a 30 plus year season ticket holder, which he enjoyed with his sons and grandson. He enjoyed working the scoreboard for the Mattawan H.S. football team for the past five years. Carl will be buried at Fort Custar National Cemetery on Monday July 18th at 11:00. Funeral procession begins promptly at 10:45. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, August 20th for family and friends.
