Beverly Jane (Vrany) DeBoer, age 93 of Kalamazoo, MI passed at Borgess Medical Center in the early hours of Saturday, January 16 with her family by her side following a stroke the previous day. Beverly was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on April 17, 1927. She was a graduate of Western Michigan University, where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority and obtained her business degree. She worked at Western Michigan University and R.M. Jones Gift Shop. She was a lifelong member of the Parchment United Methodist Church. She was very active in the church, in the XYZ club, and the Annual Holiday Bazaar. She enjoyed gardening and was an active member of the Parchment Garden Club. She was an American Red Cross blood drive volunteer for over 25 years. Beverly enjoyed spending summers at Wall Lake, fishing, swimming, and sailing with her family. She was also a member of the Wall Lake Yacht Club. She enjoyed playing bridge, quilting, baking, and sewing. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, H. Russell DeBoer. She is survived by her children: Kent DeBoer, Jeff DeBoer (Marcia DeBoer), Cheryl Baker; and her grandchildren: Karl DeBoer (Betsy DeBoer), Anna Adams, and Natalie Baker A visitation will be held at The Parchment United Methodist Church on January 20, 2021 from 10:00 a.m.-noon. There will be a service immediately following at the church at noon. There will be a private internment following the service. The family is requesting that donations be made to The Parchment Garden Club, in care of the Parchment United Methodist Church; envelopes will also be available at the church visitation.
