Passed away Saturday April 7, 2018 at Borgess Medical Center. Art was born June 29, 1935 in Marshall the son of Frank and Clara (Kelley) Bonnell. He attended St. Philip Catholic High School in Battle Creek where he played baseball and Football. Later in life he earned his GED certificate. Art was a lifetime member of the Marshall Moose Lodge and later in life a member of the Lawton Eagles Lodge and Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, where he held office in both clubs. He learned his skills in the meat department in Marshall, Albion and Mendon. It was in Mendon where he met and married Betty, they enjoyed square and round dancing. They moved to Oshtemo west of Kalamazoo. Art was worked at Town and Country; and later worked for Hardings, retiring in 2007. Art also worked part-time as a police officer for Plainwell. He enjoyed deer hunting and mushroom hunting, fishing in the summer and winter, and reading. He leaves his wife Betty of 58 years; children Norma in Kalamazoo, Frank in North Carolina, Brenda and John Dulski of Williamsburg, VA, Aileen in Landrum, SC; grandchildren, Jenny, Mike and Kelly. Friends will be received 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm Tuesday April 10, 2018 at Redmond Funeral Home, Kalamazoo. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, friends will be received an hour prior. A luncheon will follow at 12:00 PM. Wednesday Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to charity of ones choice.
