Anthony Ronald Romano

Passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. Tony was born May 21, 1946 in Providence, RI the son of Romeo and Italia (Laurienzo) Romano. He began his career as a computer programmer, and retired from Parker-Hannifin as Vice President of Information Systems. He is survived by his bride of 52 years, Elsie Camardo Romano. Elsie and Tony were married on June 22, 1968 in Providence, RI. Tony is also survived by his four children and their spouses: Jonathan (Simona) Romano, Anthony (Janelle) Romano, David (Kelly) Romano, and Sondra (Nathan) Menefee and seven grandchildren: Selena, Anthony, Paolo, Mateo, Giabella, Seamus and Landis. Also surviving are his sisters Thelma DiFrenna, Bernice (Edward) Muldowney, Sandra DiSarro, and his brother Michael (Patricia) Romano. He was preceded in death by son Anthony Robert Romano and brother Romeo Robert Romano. Tony will also be missed by his sisters-in-law Laura Lee (Camardo) Lehigh and Tonia (Camardo) Papitto and by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Tony's heart was huge; he lived in service to his family, his friends, and his community. For many years, he volunteered his time with Clean Water for the World and with the Syrian refugees in Kalamazoo. He believed in making the world a better place for all of us. Cremation will take place according to his wishes, with a funeral mass to be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Student Parish at a date not yet determined.
